How do you came from rollerblading to skiing?
I dont really know what happened. Rollerblading had been the main part of my life. I guess I just started to drift away from it slowly, and one day it just clicked that I wanted to ski. And so i did.. and fell in love. I still skate as much as I can though.
You just joined the salomon pro team, how did this happen?
Well, it all started with a hook up through a friend of mine. They sent me two pairs of skis in December. Then I met a girl who's a really good friend of mine now actually, and she rode for salomon. She put in a good word for me and then in March, I met with the salomon us team manager at a competition (my first slopestyle comp ever) and then won it. I think that's when Salomon took more of an interest in me. Then in April, there was a big comp in Whistler (where i was living) and most of the salomon international team came along as well as the us team manager and other employees. I also got to meet the international team manager from France. So I got to meet everyone at salomon which was cool. I won the two events i entered at that comp (slopestyle and rail jam) and then i guess it just got serious from then. They needed a girl to put on international and the international team manager decided he wanted me on the team. So finally in July, I signed with salomon international which was dope.
Did rollerblading help you to get control over the skis?
For sure. I wouldn't have progressed the way I did without having had the experience I had on skates.
You had a bad slam some weeks ago. How are you right now? And when will you be back on skis and blades?
I did have a bad accident. Right now im doing alot better. Its been 6 weeks but im still not anywhere near being able to ski again.. not even be really physically active. I had complications with my surgery so that has prolonged everything. Doctors still cant say for sure when i will ski or skate again.. but we'll see.. day by day i guess.
